About Us

BWCN Worm Farm is located in beautiful Banks, Oregon, which located in the northwest Willamette wine country and approximately 20 miles west of Portland, Oregon.

We raise Red Wiggler worms to produce worm castings.  The worms can also be used for vermicomposting, for pet food and for live fishing bait.

Our premium worm castings are an all-natural and soil amendment to feed the microbial activity in your soil that in turn feeds your plants, trees, and vegatables.  Our worm castings are listed by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for use in production of organic food and fiber (listed under Premium Worm Castings).

To assist in the vermicomposting efforts, we sell vermicomposting worm bins (aka worm factory).  These bins are an efficient way to convert kitchen and garden waste into nutrient-rich compost for your garden.

We raise our worms in our indoor facility, where we can monitor the temperature to ensure optimum growth and health of our worms.  Our worms are fed a rich compost which contains a wide variety of minerals and trace elements required for best possible plant growth in water soluble form.

Our products:

Worm Castings (Red Wiggler): We use a 1/8 inch mesh screen to separate the castings from the uneaten bedding to provide the purest earthworm castings that come to you straight from nature without any modifications to condition your soil in an organic and natural way that results in optimum plant growth.   OMRI Listed

Worms for Fishing: Our Red Wiggler worms are an excellent warm-weather fishing bait.  This variety requires NO REFRIGERATION and can be shipped safely in the U.S.

Earthworms for Composting:  Red Wiggler worms are excellent in Vermiculture systems.  You can recycle your food and garden waste and turn them into a nutrient-rich material.  You can produce your own worm castings and tea, while you are raising extra worms for your garden, flower bed, or yard.

Red Wiggler Cocoons (Worm Eggs):  Worms play an important role in the creation of healthy, productive soil and sustaining agriculture.  Studies show that worms hatched in a new environment are able to adapt better than transporting and releasing worms.  Thus we supply cocoons if you need to increase your worm population in your garden or farm.

Worm Factory:  We carry the Worm Factory that automatically separates the bedding materials from the finished compost in an efficient and effective method.

Pet Food:  Worms are widely known in pet trade as bird, fish, turtle, frog, toads, and lizard food.  They provide a nutritional and protein meals and provide your pet with plenty of moisture to help nourish sick, dehydrated animals.

Books:    We recommend two books related to promoting a healthy and sustainable environment:  Teaming with Microbes and Worms Eat My Garbage.  Teaming with Microbes focuses on the importance of healthy, living soil for our environment and how we can obtain living soil, while reducing the need for chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides in gardens and farms.  Worms Eat My Garbage provides a complete guide to composting with worms (vermicomposting) to convert food and garden scraps into all-natural worm compost for your gardens.

First and foremost, our customers are very important to us.  Thus, we are committed to providing you with the best products and services consistently.
